Happy Memorial Day!

Hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day! We had a picnic today and plan on playing volleyball with some friends this evening. I hope that we all took time to remember our fallen heroes. I am forever grateful for what they have done and the sacrifice they made. And I'm blessed to live in this country!

Our picnic food was yummy and super easy. We had pork BBQ sandwiches, chips, watermelon and homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Yesterday, I put a pork loin in the crock pot on high for about 5 hours. I just put it in, pour one can of chicken broth in, sprinkle liberally with salt and pepper and your are done! I make gravy from the broth and shred the pork and serve it on top of mashed potatoes. It is one of my husband's favorite meals. I serve this pretty often since Kroger has these pork loins for about $1.88/pound pretty often. One loin gets at least two meals with my family, and if Im lucky and have a little leftover, I make soup or BBQ with it.

So today, I just took my leftover shredded pork from yesterday, heat it up and then add BBQ sauce to it.

My $100 Kitchen Cabinet Makeover!

I'm so excited to share today's post. It's something I've been working on for about 2 months, on and off. But it is finished and so today I'm sharing how we renovated our kitchen cabinets for about $100. When we bought our house in a little over a year ago, I fell in love with the kitchen just by the listings photos. UPDATE!!! Check out this post to see how I also stained my island! $5 Laundry "Room" Update

I don't have a laundry room. I have a laundry closet right off the kitchen. I actually love it there because it is so convenient to keep laundry going through out the day. I wish it was a little bigger and I have future plans down the road, but for now I have to keep it organized or there is just not enough room for it all! Here was the state of my closet before. Not too bad, but there were things in there that shouldn't be in there (a sprinkler??) and it just was cluttered. Not to mention plain and boring. I think I've mentioned before on here how much I love Dollar Tree. If not, I'll say it now. I love Dollar Tree! They have some of the cutest stuff! Peanut Butter & Jelly, Chips, Granola and dried apple \ Salad, Hard-boiled egg, and Raisins Cheese, Hard-boiled egg, Apples and goldfish crackers Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich, Rice Krispy Treat and Goldfish Crackers Ham and Cheese Kabobs, Chips, Grapes and Peaches (She wanted both fruits so I can't argue with that!)
