Spring "Mantle" with Easter Touches

I redid my Spring "mantle" when I got some new decor. I love this new way I wish I could leave it up all year! (Actually, I love decorating for fall, so that will be the next exciting thing.)

I thought today I'd just share a quick post with a few pictures. Tell me what you think!

I bought this birdhouse at Michaels for $1 and painted it for a springy distressed look.

I bought this planter at Ross for $6.99 and added some blush and cream flowers to it.

I made this little crate out of Popsicle sticks. I glued it together and then painted it the same way as I did the bird house. I loved this crate as this is where I added my Easter touches. We don't do Easter bunnies and Easter eggs, but instead focus on the real meaning of Easter-Jesus. Rising from the grave and purchasing our freedom. There can be no greater reason to celebrate.

I thought the small twig wreath reminded me of the Crown of Thorns. The small white flowers resemble the Easter Lily, which symbolizes purity, new life and beauty. The key reminds me of the fact the Jesus unlocked a way for us to have a personal relationship with Him and everlasting life in eternity.

My $100 Kitchen Cabinet Makeover!

I'm so excited to share today's post. It's something I've been working on for about 2 months, on and off. But it is finished and so today I'm sharing how we renovated our kitchen cabinets for about $100. When we bought our house in a little over a year ago, I fell in love with the kitchen just by the listings photos. UPDATE!!! Check out this post to see how I also stained my island! $5 Laundry "Room" Update

I don't have a laundry room. I have a laundry closet right off the kitchen. I actually love it there because it is so convenient to keep laundry going through out the day. I wish it was a little bigger and I have future plans down the road, but for now I have to keep it organized or there is just not enough room for it all! Here was the state of my closet before. Not too bad, but there were things in there that shouldn't be in there (a sprinkler??) and it just was cluttered. Not to mention plain and boring. I think I've mentioned before on here how much I love Dollar Tree. If not, I'll say it now. I love Dollar Tree! They have some of the cutest stuff! My Frugal Cottage/Farmhouse Decor and how YOU can get it.

I have been on a decorating spree lately. I just finished my cabinets ( see them in this post here !) and so I've been changing things up a little bit. Plus spring is almost here and so I've been getting my flowers out for it! I also love to see how inexpensively I can decorate while still looking nice. I love the stuff from Pottery Barn, Magnolia Market, etc. but here on THIS blog, I'm on a budget! My favorite stores are thrift stores, specifically the Goodwill or Goodwill Outlet and stores like Ross, Homegoods and Michaels. And of course, the Dollar Tree!
