Thrifty Thursday-Marked Down Bread

Today I am sharing a tip that I use to stretch my meals out a little.  I buy marked down Italian bread loaves in the store bakeries.  I bought this loaf for $.72. It was only $1.00 to begin with but $0.28 is $0.28! Plus that's not the only savings you get with this. I love those boxes of frozen garlic toast that are about $3.00 for 6 slices!!! That's crazy. But sometimes, I just really want some bread with my meal. So I slice up the loaf and portion it out in 4 pieces per bag.  I then put all the individual bags in one big freezer bag and freeze. When it's time to eat, just pull out a bag. They thaw quickly. I spread softened butter on each side and sprinkle with garlic salt. I sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and sometimes I add Parmesan cheese. Bake at 375 for about 7 minutes or until they reach the desired crispness. With those other boxes coming in at about $0.50/slice, these are so much cheaper!!

Creamy Chicken and Noodle Casserole: Freezer Friendly

I'm doing another updated post for you today. It needed new pictures desperately and I changed just a few of the measurements. So enjoy this redo of freezer friendly comfort food. T his is an easy recipe that I often make, split in half, and freeze one and bake the other. I just take it out of the freezer the night before I plan to make it and let it thaw in the fridge. Bake it according to the directions when it's time for supper! Egg noodles,  cream of chicken,  sour cream,  milk,  salt,  pepper,  cooked chicken, c rackers, melted butter, and  shredded cheddar cheese. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook noodles al dente, drain. While noodles are cooking, melt butter and mix with crushed crackers.  Mix soup, sour cream, milk, salt and pepper. Stir in chicken. If you are making the whole recipe, stir in all the noodles now. If you are only doing half of the recipe, place half of the noodles in the baking dish and

Thrifty Thursday-Spring Wreath

Welcome to my newest weekly segment of Thrifty Thursday! I want to share frugal tips whether they are about cooking, meal planning, kids, organizing, cleaning or home decorating-like today! I love to make new wreaths to hang for the different seasons. Most of the time, I buy my wreath forms at the thrift store. If they have ugly decorations on them, most of the time, they can be taken off. If I need a certain kind, I will use a coupon and buy them at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. I got this wreath at the Goodwill Outlet and it had some cheesy fall decorations on it. I just picked it off and threw it away. Then I went through my faux flower collection and picked out some springy colored ones. Then I just assembled the wreath until I liked how it looked. Making wreaths is so easy and much cheaper than buying them pre-made.  I hung this wreath up on the side of the house where my patio and seating area are. The colors look so pretty against the grey
